La Maison Des Femmes

Originally, the Women's House of Saint-Denis

The Restart Women's Houses provide a structured, multidisciplinary and comprehensive response to gender-based and sexual violence.

Initially, Ghada Hatem-Gantzer a gynecologist and obstetrician who heads the maternity ward at Delafontaine Hospital, observed that the violence suffered by her patients negatively impacted their health. Yet, this topic was never addressed in medical training, and nothing was done to encourage patients to raise this issue.

She then conceived the idea of a place that would fill this gap: a one-stop shop where women could find all the help they needed.
This is how the very first Women's Center was born in 2016. Affiliated with the Saint-Denis Hospital Center, it offers comprehensive medical and social support for women in difficulty or victims of violence.
